BACKGROUND
Created for the industrial experimental project "Electra" by Modern Research in Sound and Vibration, this album features custom-built sound machines designed and constructed by Ivan Papadopoulos from reclaimed industrial materials, old devices, and mechanical parts. Inspired by Sophocles’ tragedy "Electra", the project merges ancient drama with industrial sound experimentation, producing a uniquely raw and immersive auditory experience.

IDEA
The silkscreen-printed cover, depicting a cold, metallic burial field, visually translates the harsh and mechanical nature of the sound machines, while the white microfiber inner sleeve, reminiscent of the linen fabric of a tunic, subtly references themes of mourning and fate in the tragedy. The archival folder-style gatefold, combined with a clean, black-and-white 12-page booklet, underscores the raw and primitive aesthetic of the project, reinforcing its experimental and conceptual depth. Limited to 250 numbered vinyl copies, this design solution bridges sound, design, and storytelling, offering an immersive and thought-provoking experience for enthusiasts of avant-garde music, industrial experimentation, and visual art.
